General Information:

This June/July, Raleigh NC will be the first US city to host Stonewall Tennis.  We are proud to announce three sponsors for our inaugural season:

Triangle Tennis Club (TTC)

United States Tennis Association (USTA)

Gay and Lesbian Tennis Association (GLTA)

Registration will be offered for players at all ability levels and we will try to create evenly matched teams.  Registration will include tennis courts, tennis balls, and T-shirts.  Players are expected to provide tennis rackets.  TTC (one of our sponsors) may be able to provide loaner tennis rackets if players have financial hardship in obtaining a tennis racket.  Players must wear tennis shoes (flat bottom athletic shoes). 

Players can request to be with a particular team captain but each team should be a balance of experienced and novice players.  Stonewall reserves the right to reassign players to create balanced teams.

Players will be asked to self-rate with a ranking (A, B, C, or D) during the registration.  A = Advanced player.  B = High Intermediate Player.  C = Low Intermediate Player.  D = Beginning Player. 

For our inaugural season we will limit participation to the first 50 players who register.  We will have a maximum of 5 teams with 10 players per team.  Each week will consist of two singles matches and three doubles matches.  All matches will be one six game set with a tie-breaker played at six games all.  No-ad scoring will be used to keep the pace of the matches fairly quick.  All other rules will be those of the USTA.  Team captains and volunteers from the Triangle Tennis Club will be available to monitor play and help with any questions on rules or format of play. 

All Stonewall Tennis league matches will be on Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 12:00 Noon at the William Peace University Tennis Center in Raleigh.    

Cost for Stonewall Tennis will be $30 and includes team t-shirt.   

Players who join Stonewall Tennis will also be able to join the Triangle Tennis Club (TTC) in 2017 for a discounted price of $25  (Normal TTC fee is $50 per season).

TTC is a social club which gives players a chance to practice and generally meets on Friday from April through September, weather permitting.
