General Information:

This season will continue the two division structure.  By having two divisions, we hope to group teams more closely by skill level.  We hope this will result in more even and competitive games and matches.

The Competitive Leave is for teams/players that can consistently control the play of the ball.  These teams and players can consistently run an offense of three contacts resulting in an solid attack (front or back line player).  Players have high school, college or league experience.  Consistent with USAV, NAGVA, or organized league rating of BB, A or Open.  The competitive league will play on Wednesday evenings (6:30pm - 9pm).

The Recreational Leage is for teams/players with recreational to limited organized play experience.  Teams and players may not have the ball control consistency required for a consistent attacking offense.  Players may have some experience playing but it may have been some time ago or not in any formal organized way.  Consistent with USAV, NAVGA, or organized league rating of B or BB.  The recreational leage will play on Thursday evenings (6:30pm - 9pm).

In an effor to accurately reflect the skill level of players should we need to combine the two leagues into one. Please think honestly about you skill level using the guideline below and choose a level that you feel reflects your ability as a volleyball player. 

Beginner

Player is brand new to the sport. Never played in an organized volleyball league or does not understand how to pass the ball or the general rules of volleyball.

Novice
Player has played recreationally before. Player still developing consistency in passing, hitting or serving the ball with complete control.

Intermediate

Player understands court positioning and court coverage at all times. Can execute passing, hitting and serving skills consistently.

Advanced

Players knows how to run an offense and consistently hit, pass, serve and block during a match. Has played previously on a competitive team preferably high school, collegiate or club level experience. 

League play will begin the week of August 01, with 7 weeks of regular season play and two weeks of play-off.  If there are insufficient teams to run a full season in either of the two division, the Director of Volleyball reserves the right to reduce the number of weeks in the regular season or to combine the two divisions.

Cost, $35, includes team t-shirt (uniform).

Games will be played at Halifax Park Gym starting at 6:45PM, last game ending at 9:00PM.
